Well, I’m starting to get close to Jedi Cal, so I’ve started to focus more on getting the gear I’m going to need for him (I’m already set with the gear for the G12 requirements). Doing random G12 characters has used up a lot of my Carbantis and Stun Guns, so I need to replenish them. Kyrotech is going to be a limiting factor again, but I’m making reasonable progress. If I didn’t need crystals for the Leviathan, I would be tempted to finish this and move on, but can’t. Besides, there’s some chance we don’t see the event come back for a couple months or more.
Speaking of crystals, I had a fantastic streak in GAC. I actually got all the crystals I need to finish the Leviathan, which should be back on the 20th or so. I had stopped my signal data farming, but after I get a little reserve built up I might start it again. I also have to factor in my Conquest crystals
It does look like Captain Rex is letting Phoenix roll over Zorii pretty easily. Granted, not everyone will actually gear up Phoenix, but it would be more common in Kyber 1. That makes me less inclined to give Zorii her omicron. Cere is another one that I’m a little iffy about. I actually do see her on defense with her omicron and GAS is pretty much a hard counter to them. I wonder how Malicos might change that. I put mine on defense, but if GAS takes them both out, why spend the omicron?
Krrsantan seems like a good one, but I usually keep Jabba on offense for a mirror. The omicron just isn’t needed to win a mirror. Hondo is good generally, but I don’t have a really good scoundrel team for him to go with. Tusken Raider could be interesting for 3v3, but that’s limited. Same with Aphra. Skiff Lando is another good one, but I’m not really looking for more TW right now. I could just save and see how Malicos goes. There actually is a world in which Malicos might end up going to LV.
Along those lines, I was also kind of thinking about L3. A lot of people put her and 5-0RT under Rey and it seems to be pretty effective. It can still be beaten, but I think it messes with the Starkiller counter. I normally put Starkiller on defense, so that never really affected me. L3 could also do double duty on a scoundrel team or with Aphra as a tank.
Another team I’ve been thinking about is Nightsisters. That’s less likely given I only have Daka and Zombie at R5 right now, but Talzin and Ventress are G12. Merrin will be G12 soon for Jedi Cal. I don’t seem to be using Daka and Zombie with SLKR as much nowadays and Merrin does make NS quite strong. GAS still beats them, but all of a sudden, there are a lot of teams that GAS needs to counters and he can only be used once. That’s a lot more of an investment than just L3, though.
GL Leia is still something I’m going to do, so I can’t go down too many tangents. Then again, we only have one set of requirements and nothing jumps out as useful to me now. I’m going to be stuck farming Phoenix Rex and the Ewok princess for a while and G12 gear is a lot more accessible with the raid. I could do a few characters in between and still be done by the time I finish farming them. You figure we’re talking 4 brand new characters instead of the normal 3 per GL.

Merrin seems to be really good, but that is with the NS Datacron. Actual utility might vary after it is gone. But CG randomly made an announcement that Merrin was doing too good against Jabba teams and they’re investigating, which means nerfing NS or buffing Jabba.
I know a couple people with Merrin/NS in my guild have used them against Jabba in TW, but it seems to be hit and miss—and I’m almost sure they have the Datacron. Plus, CG had said that they didn’t care about loops or broken combos with Datacrons, since they would expire, but you always have to take what they say with a grain of salt.
This could be an excuse to lock Zombie to a NS team. I know that’s been floated by players as a way to kill their use with SLKR. That did that before with the original Finn nerf. They used some raid pretense for nerfing him when it was really so a low gear Finn couldn’t roll over top tier teams on offense.
