The Knox County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online database of the inmates currently residing in the three facilities under the Corrections Division – Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility, Knox County Jail, and the Work Release Center. Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Each inmate is allowed two scheduled 30-minute video visits per week with family and friends. Aside from the scheduled visits, family and friends can have unlimited additional remote visits during the scheduled visitation hours as long as the tablets or kiosk are not being used for scheduled visitors. These additional visits cost $.19/minute.

Work Release Center Visitations are available 6:00pm – 10:00pm.

All remote visitations are scheduled at All onsite internal visits are located at the Knox County Sheriff’s Work Release Center.

If you do not have a home computer or access to the internet, you may use internal onsite visitation on Maloneyville Rd. Public kiosks are located at the Visitation Center. To schedule these visits call 865-281-6700 and select option 6 (visitation information). A staff member will assist you in scheduling your visit.

Once you schedule your visit, you will be required to arrive at the facility prior to your visit and present your identification. You will be subject to a search and please leave your personal belongings in your car. After check-in, you will be directed to the kiosk and there you will enter your identification and choose your inmate to visit.

To send money to an inmate, you can use any of the jail ATMs located in the lobby of the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility and the Knox County Jail. You may place cash into the ATM for the inmate for a $4.95 surcharge. ATMs will also accept credit cards for a 10% surcharge.You may also add funds to inmate accounts by visiting

Money Orders and Cashier’s Checks will be accepted by MAIL ONLY. A $2.50 surcharge will automatically be placed on all Money Order and Cashier’s Check received. Do not include any letters or correspondence with the Money Order or Cashier’s Check, as it will not be given to inmates.
